Personal Care provides assistance with self-care tasks, mobility and activities of daily living that you may be unable to manage on your own due to illness, disability or frailty.

What to Expect

Our qualified care workers will assist you to manage personal care activities in a safe and supportive manner.

Tasks that we can assist you with during Personal Care include:

  • Bathing, showering, or sponging
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Shaving, hair care and grooming
  • Cleaning teeth
  • Toileting and use of continence aids
  • Getting in and out of bed
  • Sitting, standing and walking
  • Transfer to commode, wheelchair, chair or vehicle
  • Use of appliances such as splints and callipers (client specific training required)
  • Use of hoists and lifters (with specialised training)
  • Prescribed exercise or therapy programs
  • Monitoring self-medication
  • Assisted shopping (take you out to buy groceries and pay bills)
  • Cooking and food preparation
  • Eating and drinking
  • Hearing aids and communication devices (client specific training required)
  • Attendance at medical and other appointments
  • Accompanying you to community activities
  • Building your confidence and capacity for community access by assisting you to:
    • Use public or subsidised transport
    • Use volunteer support
    • Connect or reconnect with community and cultural groups
