From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government’s new Support at Home program will replace the current Home Care Package system. This new approach has been designed to make in-home care easier to understand, more flexible, and more personalised, so older Australians can continue living safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes for longer.
At MHA Care, our focus remains the same: walking alongside you with compassion, clarity, and genuine care. Whether you’re already receiving support or exploring your options for the first time, we’re here to guide you through what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and how the new system can best support your goals.
The Support at Home program introduces new funding levels and clearly defined service categories to give you more choice and control. If you currently have a Home Care Package, the Government has committed that you will receive a budget aligned with your existing level, following the ‘no worse off’ principle.
As the transition unfolds, our friendly team will help you understand your budget, plan your services, and make the most of the supports available to you. We’ll continue to prioritise your safety, wellbeing, and independence, because at MHA Care, we believe everyone deserves to feel at home while receiving the care they need.
Under Support at Home, you will receive a quarterly budget based on your assessed needs and funding level. MHA Care can help you:
