Our volunteers are a highly valued and integral part of our programs and are crucial to the  ongoing success of MHA Care.

By giving as little as an hour a month you can make a difference in your community.

Please contact us if you are able to provide volunteer support for the following roles:

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Volunteering

To find out more about volunteering in any of our programs, please telephone our Volunteer Co-ordinator on 03 5742 1111 or email volunteer@mhacare.org.au.

MHA Care will organise an interview with you when you offer your help. In the interview, we will discuss what we expect from you and what you can expect from us. We will request references and undertake a police check (at MHA Care's cost).

New volunteers receive an induction into their new role, and experienced volunteers who have been involved for a while will share some of their experience and advice.

Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver meals to MHA Care clients, either using their own car, or acting as a partner to another volunteer (deliveries are done in pairs).

Planned Activity Group volunteers assist clients with activities and social outings.

Moira Foodshare volunteers assist with sorting and distributing food and goods and assisting customers.

Opportunity Shop volunteers sort and distribute goods and assist customers with purchases.

Anything from an hour a month depending on your availability - the choice is yours!

MHA Care are happy to take whatever time you can give and this will be discussed at the initial interview.

You will experience the satisfaction of knowing you are providing a vital service to the community.

You will make new friends, learn new skills, and probably grow in self-esteem and confidence.

Your involvement will brighten the lives of others and make a real difference in your community.
